Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

By using NeverFar, you're agreeing to these terms. They're written to be actually readable — if something here feels unclear or unfair, email grimer1410@gmail.com and ask.

What NeverFar is

NeverFar is a free, no-account tool for watching local video files or YouTube together with someone else, in sync, with live chat, polls, and peer-to-peer video/audio calls. It's provided as-is, for personal, non-commercial use, by an individual developer — not a company.

Using it responsibly

You agree not to use NeverFar to:

  • Upload or share content you don't have the rights to distribute (see the Copyright Policy).
  • Share content that's illegal, harassing, abusive, or exploitative — this very much includes anything involving the sexualization or endangerment of minors, which is never tolerated under any circumstances.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other people's rooms.
  • Use the service to harass, stalk, or harm another person.

Rooms include an automatic profanity/abuse filter and host controls (lock, kick, warnings) to help keep things civil. The person who created a room ("the host") is responsible for moderating who they invite and what happens in it.

Your content

You retain whatever rights you already had to anything you upload or share through NeverFar — we don't claim ownership of it. You're solely responsible for making sure you have the right to share what you upload. Uploaded videos and chat history are automatically deleted as described in the Privacy Policy — nothing is kept longer than necessary for the room to function.

No warranty

NeverFar is provided "as is," free of charge, with no guarantee of uptime, availability, or that it will always work exactly as expected. It's run and maintained by one person, not a company with an SLA. Please don't rely on it for anything critical.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NeverFar and its developer aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost data, lost content, or issues with a video/audio call. Use it at your own discretion.

Termination

Rooms or access may be removed or restricted, without notice, if they're being used to violate these terms — this is handled through the admin tools described in the Privacy Policy. There's nothing to "cancel," since there's no account to begin with.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service changes. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version — continuing to use NeverFar after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the developer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent applicable.
